Questions

Is anything I type sent anywhere?
No. The calculations run in your browser.
Do I need an account?
No. These tools work without signing in. A few controls are marked Pro and unlock with a paid plan; everything else is free to use.
Where does the exchange rate come from?
You enter it. Type today's rate for an exact result; automatic live rates are on the roadmap.
Which units can the unit converter handle?
Length, weight, temperature, volume, area, speed, data size and time, using the exact definitions published by NIST. US and Imperial volumes are listed separately, and data sizes come in both decimal (kB, MB) and binary (KiB, MiB) units. Months and years are left out because their length varies.
How are working days counted?
From the start date up to, but not including, the end date, so Monday to Friday is 4 working days; tick either box to count the start or the end. Weekends, the holidays you pick and the days off you add are skipped, and a day that is more than one of these is only skipped once. Dates run from 1900 to 2100.
Which holidays can it skip?
Public holidays for one region: the United States (federal), England and Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland (with substitute days), Canada (federally regulated workplaces) or India (three national holidays only). Add any of Christian (Western), Orthodox Christian, Jewish, Islamic, Lunar New Year and Diwali, and untick any single holiday you work. Islamic dates may differ by a day where they follow a local moon sighting. Downloading the days as a calendar (.ics) or a spreadsheet (CSV) is Pro.
How is pay converted?
Through weekly pay, using the hours, days and weeks you set (40, 5 and 52 to start): an hourly rate is multiplied by your hours a week, a salary is divided by your weeks a year, and a month is a twelfth of a year. It is straight-time gross pay, without overtime or benefits. Add your own tax rates to see a take-home figure; they come off as flat percentages, so it is your estimate, not a tax calculation.
How is a meeting's cost worked out?
Each person's hourly rate times the length of the meeting, added up. Enter one rate for everyone, or list up to 50 rates for up to 500 people; a salary is turned into an hourly rate with your hours a week and weeks a year. It counts pay only, not benefits or overheads.
What happens when the clocks change?
The time-zone planner uses your browser's own time-zone rules. If the time you pick doesn't exist because the clocks go forward, it says so and shows the next valid time; if it happens twice because the clocks go back, it asks which one you mean.
